Dutiful Chief Maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Sakuya was given her name by Remilia, changing her fate. Nothing is known about her before her employment at the Mansion save that she doesn't come from Gensokyo originally. There are rumors she was an overconfident vampire hunter that challenged Remilia. Some allege she might have origins relating to the Moon, and some say she was simply a skilled human who's abilities caused her to drift apart from fellow humans and arrive in Gensokyo. While she has slowly learned to be more open to her fellow humans in Gensokyo, this was hardly a fast process as she's been in Remilia's employ so long the Vampire has commented that it doesn't seem appropriate to call Sakuya human anymore.
Not even the extent of her abilities are known, but they are well speculated given how many demonstrations she's provided of them. She's also not above potentially lying about them to get people to leave her alone, such as when she has cited that she can't stop time and merely throws her knives with no mass at high speed. What she has demonstrated as part of her abilities is making the interior of the Scarlet Devil Mansion exorbitantly larger than it already was, fermenting milk into cheese, making bamboo flowers blossom instantly, extending the night, making it seem as she moves at impossible speeds as well as seemingly produce objects from thin air to allegedly even making temporary copies of herself to assist in the cleaning of the Mansion, duplicating her knives by taking them from "another time" to use now.
Her possessions are few, perhaps as a result of her fate having been changed. She is known to possess her maid uniform, a scant number of outfits, her pocket watch, and silver throwing knives (x many).
One of her only hobbies, and this seems work-related as well is that she enjoys gathering strange and unique tea ingredients to see if she can one day brew a tea that tastes similar to blood for Remilia. Her lack of hobbies stems from the fact the Fairy Maids are little better than useless, and she has her hands full being Chief Maid and the only human in the entire Mansion.
Sakuya can be deemed spacey, few can agree as to whether this is merely an act or the real deal. She is professionally polite to Remilia and other residents of the Mansion where applicable, but she can seem like a terrible grouch towards people she deems as slackers like Meiling as she doesn't hesitate to hold others to the standards she holds herself to, a pedestal that might be too lofty. She can come off as exceptionally cold towards people that she perceives as interfering with her work of the inner workings of the Mansion, but otherwise can be pleasant enough, if not less formal with most people.
